I watched, I witnessed as you left this world, in but a moments time on a Sunday afternoon in July.
What was a simple unassuming trip to the bird store became an enormous life-changing experience. On a beautiful Sunday afternoon he was simply enjoying his motorcycle, with I assume not a care in the world. Moving along without a car in proximity and then…in but a moment, before us he met the side of a van that had carelessly crossed directly in front of him. Continue reading
Remember those days when we taped our bags to the front of our desks or decorated boxes so that we could be filled with the love of Valentine’s?
Those secret expressions of love and caring that were slipped in, (in secret) like the mystery of magic. The candies, gum, sweets and chocolate kisses. We would feel the bag from the outher edge to weigh our value in the world. If it felt robust and heavy we knew we were well loved; and if it felt light and empty we questioned our worth. A funny thought occurred to me as I read some threads on social media yesterday….If you were to describe what “soft” is to someone…how would you do it? How would you convey the nature of soft without the contrast? And if you were to describe it, how would you describe “soft?” The second thought occurred to me, and how could you describe it in such a way that was inclusive of everyone’s experience? Can you? The morning started with a casual lumbering flare about it, no hurry for breakfast, no rush for timeline…enjoying several cups of fresh Italian coffee with cream. Savoring every bit of the day…lost in the moments. I asked to tag along and be dropped off at the Youngfield lakes while my husband went about his few appointments. Continue reading
Well, here we are….on the threshold of a New Year 2014, bidding a thankful goodbye to the 2013!
The air is buzzing with the resolutions and good wishes of many for something better. It has me diving deeply within to explore the energies of what’s being shared. If we allow ourselves to simply peek through the veils we have in place, we could more clearly see the gifts in ALL that has been in our moments 2013. Continue reading
The fire was exceptionally warm and thank goodness, it was certainly a brisk cool evening with hints of Fall in the air. We enjoyed a relaxing dinner around the fire and sipped a delightful Pyramid Ale. The sky was amazingly clear and the sounds of crickets pierced the air in their harmonious way. The night began with a few shooting stars and the fun search for satellites traveling the earth…and then….what appeared was truly magical. Continue reading
I came across a classic example of an oxymoron this morning as I paged through Facebook. Welcoming you to participate – yet follow the rules…kinda like “be open, but within the boundaries.” Of course it triggered me. It felt like a closed confine with hopeful expansion. So I sat with that energy a bit…and found myself asking questions. How expansive does that feel? What is expansive about limiting expression? Why are rules in play anyway? How can we hope to expand forward if it has to feel, look or be a certain way? Continue reading
I’m quietly sitting in the cool morning drenched in humidity and the soft sound of more rain in the back ground. There’s an eerie cry of a King Fisher in the yard, displaced by the floods from his home near the pond. The roar of the water still heard off in the distance and the busy flight patterns of birds from the neighborhood criss-crossing the yard. Continue reading
The spiritual path is something that many of us are “conceptually” embarking upon with wide eyes and open hearts we begin to experience a deeper, richer experience of what it means to be human. Getting in touch with ourselves, witnessing the folly of the mind and its antics. There’s so much to be gleamed from examples of what we may “label” as back tracking, falling into old habits and ways of thinking or being…screwing up to some etc. Continue reading
I am so very grateful for the magical way in which the Universe, God/Source lays before me the perfect conversation with which to marinate in. My blog from yesterday was about the funny dance of the ego and the clever way it would have us believe that we are the originators of thought and creation, and that we actually own anything. Funny today as I was off to do a few errands before our next Spring storm I had a brief and powerful conversation with a lovely young lady at Starbucks. Continue reading
